Machine polisher correcting swirled paint on a dark car door at Coastline Detail Studio

What you get

Removed, not hidden. There's a difference.

  • Swirls & spider-webbing gone - polished out of the clear coat, not filled over
  • Measured, not guessed - paint depth gauged panel by panel before any pad touches it
  • Oxidation & water spots leveled - years of sun and sprinkler damage erased
  • Mirror reflections - light bars go from hazy smears to razor lines
  • An honest scratch assessment - we show you what's fixable and what isn't, first
  • The foundation for protection - corrected paint is what ceramic and PPF lock in

Levels

As much correction as your paint needs. No more.

Clear coat is finite - the right level removes the damage while keeping plenty in reserve. We read your paint under the lights and recommend honestly. Quoted to your car's condition.

Enhancement

One-stage polish · whole car

Clears haze and light swirls, wakes the gloss back up. Where most daily drivers should stop.

Two-Stage

Compound + polish · whole car

Removes moderate swirls, scratches, and etching. The full transformation - and our most-booked level.

Multi-stage · wet-sand spot work

Chasing perfection on black paint and show cars. Judged under the lights, panel by panel.

Panel & Spot

Single panel · scratch repair

One keyed door, one scuffed bumper. Corrected and blended so you'd never know.

Quoted per panel

The correction

Measured first. Polished second.

1

Inspect & measure

Swirl-finder lights and a paint depth gauge, panel by panel. We agree the level - and what's not fixable - before quoting.

2

Decontaminate

Wash, clay, and iron removal. Polishing over bonded grit just grinds it back into the paint.

3

Correct

Compound to cut the defects, polish to refine the gloss. Edges taped, trim masked, depth re-checked as we go.

4

Protect & walkaround

Fresh clear coat is bare - we seal it, then you inspect every panel with us under the same lights we corrected by.

The details

Same paint. Different decade.

Correction is the most dramatic thing we do to a car - and the easiest to prove.

Car door panel half corrected, showing mirror gloss beside swirled paint
Halfway through a door - corrected left, untouched right
Digital paint depth gauge measuring clear coat on a dark panel
Depth-gauged before any pad touches the car
Swirl-finder light revealing spider-web scratches in dark paint

“The hood on my black GT350 looked gray from swirls. It's a mirror now - and they showed me the depth readings before touching it.”

Questions

Asked before every correction.

Will the swirls come back?

The ones we remove are gone forever - they were carved into the clear coat and we leveled it. New swirls come from washing habits, which is why you leave with a wash guide, and why most clients seal corrected paint under a ceramic coating so it stays this way.

Can you fix every scratch?

No - and we'll tell you which ones before we start. If a fingernail catches in the scratch, it's usually through the clear coat and needs touch-up or paint, not polishing. Everything shallower than that, we can genuinely remove.

Is polishing safe for my clear coat?

Done our way, yes. Clear coat is measured in microns and correction removes only a few of them - that's why we gauge every panel first and re-check as we work. The unsafe version is the guy with a rotary and no gauge.

Why not just use a glaze or filler?

Fillers hide swirls until the third wash, then they're back - that's the trick behind most "$99 polish" specials. We don't use them, full stop. It costs more to actually remove defects, and it's the only version worth paying for.
